Teen nabbed with cocaine and ganja at Charity
(Kaieteur News) – One man has been arrested after police found a quantity of cannabis and cocaine on Tuesday morning, during an operation conducted at the Charity Old Market, Essequibo Coast.
Enquiries revealed that ranks, acting on information received, went to the area where they observed an 18-year-old unemployed male of Charity Village. Upon seeing the police, the suspect reportedly threw a black bag into nearby bushes and attempted to escape, but he was pursued and apprehended.

The bag was retrieved and opened in his presence, during which a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, along with a quantity of creamish whitish substance suspected to be cocaine, were found.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Charity Police Station, where the suspected narcotics were weighed in his presence. The suspected cannabis amounted to 64.6 grams, while the suspected cocaine amounted to 30 grams before both were lodged. The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
