Minister of Education, Sonia Parag a meeting with the Ministry’s leadership to review readiness and final preparations for NGSA 2026.
(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Education on Monday announced that some 15,938 pupils countrywide have registered to write this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) (Common Entrance) which is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
“Behind every number is a student preparing, learning, and aiming for their next step. The Ministry of Education remains committed to supporting every learner throughout this important stage of their academic journey,” the ministry stated in a Facebook post.
This publication understands that on April 29, 2026, Grade Six pupils will write English, Papers One and Two in the morning and Science, Papers One and Two in the afternoon. While on April 30, 2026, Mathematics, Papers One and Two will be written in the morning and Social Studies, Papers One and Two in the afternoon session.
The ministry stated also that with only days to go for the NGSA 2026, it continues to ensure that systems are in place to support a smooth, fair, and successful examination process for all candidates across Guyana.
On this note, Minister Sonia Parag on Monday morning convened a meeting with Ministry leadership to review readiness and final preparations. “The focus remains on ensuring a seamless examination experience nationwide,” the ministry added.
