Kaieteur Sports – The Cricket West Indies Masters Association (CWIMA) is pleased to announce that Mainstay Resort has officially come on board as a Bronze Sponsor of the 2026 IMC Over-40s Cricket World Cup – Guyana.
This latest partnership adds further momentum to preparations for what is shaping up to be one of the most significant Masters Cricket events ever hosted in the region.
The tournament will be held in Guyana from October 17 to November 1, 2026, and will feature 16 international teams, 72 matches, full live-stream coverage of all matches, 16 televised matches on Willow TV, and planned exposure throughout the Caribbean and international cricket markets.
CWIMA welcomes the support of Mainstay Resort and recognizes owner Wilfred Jagnarine for his contribution toward the successful staging of this landmark event.
As a Bronze Sponsor, Mainstay Resort joins a growing list of organizations supporting a tournament that is expected to deliver strong benefits for sports tourism, hospitality, transportation, food and beverage, and Guyana’s international profile.
Speaking on the partnership, CWIMA noted that support from businesses such as Mainstay Resort reflects growing confidence in the tournament and in Guyana’s ability to host major international sporting events at a high level.
The 2026 IMC Over-40s Cricket World Cup is being positioned not only as a premier cricket tournament but also as a major platform to showcase Guyana to regional and global audiences. The event is being held under the Patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, further underscoring its national significance.
CWIMA looks forward to working with Mainstay Resort and Wilfred Jagnarine as preparations continue for the tournament.
