Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Police Force continues to show support for youth and community development in various ways.

The Guyana and Barbados U16 players being presented with their cricket gear by Deputy Commissioner Budhram.
Recently a number of U16 cricketers from both the Guyana and Barbados U16 cricket teams benefitted. The players are participating in the CWI Rising Stars Under-16 bilateral 50-over series between the two teams.
The players were presented with cricket gear compliments of the Guyana Police Force Officers’ Team.
The players benefitting were Guyanese Asgaralli Nabbie and Nathan Bishop, along with Barbadians Micaiah Brathwaite and Liam Sealey.
The gear was handed over by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravindradat Budhram, who is also the Captain of the GPF Officers Cricket Team.
The presentation was made during the innings break of Game 2 of the competition which was played at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Also in attendance was Superintendent Ronald Ali, Vice-Captain of the Guyana Police Force Officers Cricket Team.
According to a release -The inclusion of the young Barbadian players, one of whom is the son of a policeman in Barbados, added a special regional touch to the presentation and highlighted the spirit of camaraderie and connection between members of the policing fraternity across the Caribbean.
Budhram, emphasized on the importance of investing in young players, noting that cricket continues to be a powerful tool for discipline.
He encouraged the youngsters to remain focused, humble and committed to the hard work required to advance in the sport. He also reminded them that opportunities such as these should inspire them to continue striving for excellence both on and off the field.
The young players expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the gear would assist greatly in their preparation and continued development in the game.
