Dear Sports Editor,
I am not against the actions taken by the West Indies and Guyana Cricket Boards against Guyanese all-rounder Kevin Sinclair for acts of indiscipline behavior. The question I want these two prestigious organisations to answer though, was there any counselling programmes offered to Mr. Kevin Sinclair, who was charged with several acts of indiscipline conduct, or was he pardoned and forgiven because of his natural latent.
WICB and GCB was Kevin Sinclair valuable enough to keep then, but not enough to save now?
The West Indies and the Guyana Cricket Board must understand where Kevin Sinclair came from, not geographically, but psychologically.
Please don’t let Kevin Sinclair become another Linden Joseph, a talent ruined.
Guyana Cricket Board, don’t tell me that the iconic Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan were academics at the beginning of their career.
It should be noted Kevin Sinclair was never accused of rape.
The WICB and the Guyana Cricket Board must have programmes for when talent arrives with struggle, if not, Egos take over.
Did institutional tolerance play a part in Kevin’s decay? This debacle was never brought before any disciplinary committee and was ever sanctioned. Of note, several Guyana players were accused of ball tampering in the past and they are still playing for Guyana.
Charwayne Walker.
