Kaieteur Sports – Action in the 12th Annual Massy Distribution Secondary Schools Boys’ Under-18 Football Tournament is set to resume on Wednesday, April 8, following a brief suspension caused by heavy rainfall.
Tournament organisers, Petra Organisation, confirmed the restart in a statement issued yesterday, noting that matches were halted last weekend after torrential downpours disrupted Round Two fixtures.
According to the release, competition is tentatively scheduled to continue on April 8, with additional matches lined up for April 9, 11, 12 and 25 at the Queen’s College ground. Fans can expect a series of keenly contested encounters as teams return to the field.
Petra Organisation also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the last-minute cancellations due to the inclement weather.
The tournament, sponsored by Massy Distribution with support from the Demerara Mutual Group and the Ministry of Education, will pick up where it left off, with schools eager to regain momentum in the race for top honours.
Updated fixtures and further details on the resumption of matches will be published as soon as they become available.
