Kaieteur Sports – Ex-West Indies Test batsman Assad Fudadin stroked a magical 94 and grabbed a few wickets to help Region 6 clinch a 38-run win
Region 6 secured a 38-run victory over Region 2 in Match 5 of the Commissioner of Police T20 Cup 2026, played today, Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Taking first strike, Region 6 ended on 156-6 after their 20 overs ended, thanks in part to Fudadin, the ex-West Indies and Guyana Test player who rolled back the years with a magical knock of 94.
The left-hander spanked 7 fours and hit 4 maximums as he carried the innings singlehandedly to give his side a decent score to defend.
Opposition bowling saw Placid Edwards leading Region 2’s bowling with a haul of 3-16, finding support from all-rounder Riyad Latif, who was the next best bowler with 2-32 from his four over quota.
Region 2 in reply were mowed down for 118 in the 18th over, with Reon Venture resisting with a decent 34.
Fudadin, despite narrowly missing his ton, followed up a good batting game with figures of 2-23, alongside Rocky Hutson (2-24).
Region 6’s star, however, was Paul James who snatched 4-23 to lead his team after his quota of overs ended.
