Former MP Involved in Regent Street Crash

Kaieteur News – Former Member of Parliament for the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), Mervyn Williams, was on Sunday afternoon involved in a motor vehicle accident with a Spanish-speaking driver at the intersection of Regent and Cummings streets in Georgetown.
Williams reportedly escaped unharmed, while the foreign national sustained minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the Spanish-speaking driver, operating motor car PPP 332, was travelling at high speed along Regent Street. As Williams’ bus was crossing the intersection, the car reportedly collided with the bus.
The impact caused the car to spin several times before hitting a nearby traffic light pole.
Police are currently on the scene.
