Kaieteur Sports – The National Gymnasium Volleyball court shook with cheers on Friday as the curtain came down on the 2026 National Schools Volleyball Championship as the male and female champions stood tallest when it mattered most. The Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) males and the St Stanislaus College females powered their way to commanding title wins, putting an emphatic stamp on the two-day showdown.

St Stanislaus College Girls team wins National School’s Volleyball championship, defeating CPCE to seal the 2026 title.
As the day settled over the iconic indoor venue, CPCE Boys crushed Queen’s College 25-7 to claim the coveted championship title.
On Friday, if there were nerves in the male final, CPCE quickly erased them. After a slightly shaky opening riddled with service errors on both sides, CPCE found their rhythm and unleashed a masterclass. Queen’s College, who had stormed into the final after slicing past Annandale Secondary and dismissing President’s College ‘A’ Team 17-13 and 17-11, simply had no answer.
The boys from CPCE folded QC 25-7 in the first set and tightened their grip from there, sealing the championship in ruthless fashion with a first set finish. Calculated plays from QC flickered briefly, but the deficit proved too wide. When the final whistle blew, CPCE were crowned 2026 champions in dominant style.
President’s College secured third place, while Queen’s College settled for second.

Cyril Potter College of Education Women featured in a mouthwatering final against Saints Girl’s yesterday inside the National Gymnasium.
The female division told a similar story of authority — this time from the Saints. The St Stanislaus College girls entered the final brimming with confidence after conquering President’s College ‘A’ Team twice on day one and dismantling St Rose’s High 17-11 and 17-2. With three convincing victories behind them, they set up a mouthwatering clash with CPCE Women.
What followed was clinical. The Saints Girls delivered a commanding 17-11 and 17-5 performance to close out a championship win against CPCE, leaving little doubt about who owned the court. Sharp serving, disciplined defence, and relentless attacking play carried them to the title in like manner.
At the end, CPCE claimed second place, while President’s College took third in the female division.
Following the high-energy finals, a simple but proud presentation ceremony honoured the top three finishers in both divisions. Medals gleamed, trophies were lifted, and months of preparation paid off in applause.
The championship was made possible through the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission, whose backing ensured two days of thrilling school volleyball action.
