Diamond Secondary won the toss and elected to bat first but struggled against disciplined bowling from the Patentia attack. Aaron James top-scored with a determined 11 runs as Diamond were restricted to a shaky 29 for 6 in their allotted overs. Shazad Ally was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for just 11 runs to keep the Diamond batting lineup in check.
In reply, Patentia Secondary made light work of the modest target, reaching 30 without the loss of a wicket to seal the victory emphatically and cap off an impressive tournament run.
Tournament coordinator James “Uprising” Lewis assisted with the presentation ceremony, handing over the Secondary School Tapeball trophy to the victorious Patentia Secondary team for their exceptional showing in the first GOAPC competition.
Lewis also announced that preparations are already underway for the next tournament, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, at the National Park tarmac. Defending champions Covent Garden Secondary are set to return, with 17 teams already registered, promising another exciting chapter in the growing Tapeball cricket calendar.
