Kaieteur Sports – The curtain came down on the first outdoor hockey tournament of the 2026 season in dramatic fashion as Old Fort Hockey Club (OFHC) Titans lifted the Bounty Farm One-Day Outdoor Hockey Tournament Men’s title, edging Pepsi Hikers 1–0 in a tense, nerve-shredding final.
With the stands buzzing and defences locked in at the National Stadium, the decisive moment arrived just in time on Sunday. Shaquon Favourite etched his name into the headlines, firing home the lone goal of the match to hand Old Fort a hard-fought victory and the ultimate seven-a-side Men’s Outdoor Hockey championship.

The Triumphant OFHC Titans seal 2026 Men’s Outdoor title at the recently concluded Bounty Farm One-Day Hockey Championship.
Emerging from Group B, OFHC Titans were ruthless early, steamrolling Hikers Cadets 5–0 before grinding out a 2–2 draw with SHC S’Team. They regrouped emphatically, dispatching GCC Outlaws 4–1 to book a semifinal berth.
Pepsi Hikers were equally impressive en route to the final. They obliterated OFHC Gladiators 7–0, swept aside Bounty GCC 5–1, and survived their sternest test against SHC Scorpions, clinching a tight 3–2 win. A crucial matchup with SHC S’Team sealed their semifinal ticket.
Both finalists showed their class in the last four; OFHC Titans overcoming OFHC S’Team, while Pepsi Hikers powered past Bounty GCC, setting the stage for a blockbuster finale.
The championship clash lived up to its billing. Chances were scarce, tackles were crunching, and goalkeepers stood tall. Just when penalties seemed inevitable, Favourite broke the deadlock, sparking celebrations in Old Fort colours as the final whistle confirmed a 1–0 triumph.
In the women’s competition, GBTI GCC Tigers were simply dominant. They edged GCC Spice 3–2 in their first outing of the day, blanked OFHC Inferno 2–0, before squeezing past Saints 1–0. The Tigers continued their excellent form by hammering Hikers 4–1 to set up an all-GCC final against GCC Spice.
The championship match was a tactical battle, but The Tigers found their bite. Abosaide Cadogan and Princessa Wilkie struck on separate occasions, piercing Spice’s defence to secure a comfortable championship victory, carting off with the coveted 2026 Women’s Outdoor crown.
As the dust settled at the National Stadium, the message was clear: the 2026 outdoor hockey season has roared to life — and Old Fort Hockey Club and GBTI GCC Tigers have set the early benchmark.
