Kaieteur Sports – Bris-O Promotions in association with the Caribbean Boxing Organization (CBO) and the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) commence 2026 with the Caribbean Boxing Showdown Round 2, which is scheduled for the Cliff Anderson Sport (CASH) on January 24.
Yesterday, the local fighters involved in the seven-bout card that features other pugilists from four Countries, met at the Windjammer International Cuisine & Comfort Inn to sign their contracts.
The brief meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bris-O Promotions, Seon Bristol, CBO Executive, Dexter Patterson, and GBBC Vice President, Joshua Abdool.

Desmond Amsterdam (right) and Edmond DeClou (left) exchanged a few light-hearted words after inking their contracts.
Bristol stated that he was quite pleased to commence the New Year with this event which is geared toward building the world of boxing locally and abroad in the best interest of the fighters.
He also mentioned they were faced with an unavoidable issue which forced the rescheduling of the fight date, but that hurdle provided ample time to effectively implement their preparatory steps.
The CEO further disclosed a goal of Bris-O Promotions as they aim to improve their efficacy, which is to host a total of ten promotions per year with more territories involved.
In the GBBC Vice President’s brief comments, he commended Bris-O Promotions for compiling the card to get the New Year underway. Abdool anticipates that the card is going to be a fantastic one and urged the Promoting body to continue on their mission.

The local fighters on the card took a photo op following the signing of their contracts at the Wind Jammer International Hotel. Seated (L-R) are the GBBC VP Joshua Abdool, Bris-O Promotions CEO Seon Bristol and CBO Executive Dexter Patterson.
On fight night, the only eight-round fight will feature Rasheed Williams of the Bahamas going head-to-head with Jamaica’s Nico Yeo, battling at 147 lbs.
The two six-round bouts to be fought at 175 lbs are expected to be intriguing with local fighters Desmond Amsterdam pitted against Desmond DeClou, while Quincy Jones (GUY) will clash with Charles Cox of Jamaica.
Also on the card are four four-round bouts. Fighting at 140 lbs, Jamal Eastman will make his debut against local compatriot Delon Charles, while Jamaica’s Damar Haslam will face off against Joel Williamson on home turf.
In the other two matches, Suriname’s Samuel Greene and Guyana’s Keevin Allicock will match fists at 126 lbs while Barbados’ Tyreece Tait will battle Mitchell Wielson at 158 lbs. Prior to those bouts there will be an amateur card that will allow the rising stars to showcase their skills.
