(Kaieteur News) – Two Guyanese men and a Venezuelan woman were further remanded on Monday in connection with the deadly October 26 bombing at the Mobil Gas Station on Regent and King Streets, Georgetown.
Venezuelan national Jennifer Rodriguez, along with Guyanese nationals Wayne Correia, 44, and Ramesh Pramdeo, 51, made their second court appearance at the Leonora Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Alisha George.
The trio has been jointly charged with terrorism and is accused of aiding and abetting the act of terror at the gas station. The two Guyanese defendants were represented by attorney Bernard Da Silva.
According to the attorney, full disclosure from the prosecution had been expected during Monday’s proceedings, but none was provided. The prosecution instead requested more time, and the matter was adjourned until December 17 for disclosure.
Meanwhile, the prime suspect in the bombing, 33-year-old Venezuelan Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, along with co-accused 44-year-old Venezuelan Alexander Bettancourt, Venezuelan national Krystal LaCruz, and Guyanese national Johnny Boodram, remain on remand until December 3, 2025, for further disclosures.
The group made their first court appearance earlier in the month at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Poedemo faces a separate charge of committing an act of terrorism on October 26, allegedly using an explosive device at the Mobil Fuel Station at Regent and King Streets, resulting in the death of six-year-old Soraya Bourne. He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
Bettancourt, LaCruz, and Boodram were jointly charged with aiding and abetting Poedemo in the bombing and were also not required to enter pleas. All accused were remanded to prison, with the Guyanese defendants maintaining their innocence. Among the group, only Boodram was represented by counsel.
