(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Education has applauded Guyana’s 2025 CSEC® and CAPE® high-achievers, praising the exceptional performance of students who continue to rank among the Caribbean’s best and shine across an expanding range of subjects.
Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, hailed the results as a powerful reflection of dedication, resilience and national pride. “These achievements speak to the hard work of our students, the commitment of their teachers, and the unwavering support of parents,” Minister Parag said. “You have represented Guyana with distinction — and we will continue to invest to ensure every child can realize their full potential.”
At the CSEC level, Guyana’s students have once again proven themselves among the best in the Caribbean. Their exceptional results are a testament to their discipline, intellect, and the unwavering support of their teachers.
Among the regional top performers are:
2nd place regionally in Integrated Science (General)
4th place regionally in Integrated Science (General)
6th place regionally in Integrated Science (General)
The ministry also recognises the stellar achievements of students across subjects such as Agricultural Science, Economics, Chemistry, English A, and Mathematics. Guyana has dominated as the top performer for Portuguese after having introduced it to the curriculum in 2015. Similarly, students performed excellently in Religious Education. Guyana’s CAPE scholars continue to shine brilliantly, displaying excellence in fields ranging from the sciences and technology to the arts and humanities.
Among the nation’s outstanding achievers are:
Top in Biology Unit 2, Physics Unit 2, Pure Mathematics Unit 2, and Integrated Mathematics
Top in Chemistry Unit 2 and Pure Mathematics Unit 2
Top in Art and Design Unit 1, Digital Media Unit 2, Animation and Game Design Unit 2, and Pure Mathematics Unit 2
Top in Animation and Game Design Unit 2 and Information Technology Unit 2
Top in Law Unit 2 and Entrepreneurship Unit 2
Top in Economics Unit 2 and Law Unit 2
Top in Information Technology Unit 2 and Computer Science Unit 2
Top in Applied Mathematics Unit 1
Top in Information Technology Unit 1 and Environmental Science Unit 2
Top in Physics Unit 2 and Biology Unit 2
Top in Green Engineering Unit 2
Top in Sociology Unit 2
Top in Performing Arts Unit 2 (Cinematic Arts)
