Dr. Ramcharan Justifies Genocide

The article by Dr. Bertrand Ramcharan in the October 1st, 2025, issue of the Stabroek News is an extremely dangerous piece. It has given justification to the genocide that is presently being conducted against the Palestinian population by the Israeli occupiers.

That article exposed Dr. Ramcharan ideologically as a Zionist-Christian against the Palestinian people. Dr. Ramcharan is an educated man who reached very senior positions at the United Nations. Yet he writes about things that are totally untrue. The very first paragraph is a total distortion of history. He wrote, “For two thousand plus years Jews, expelled from their ancestral land, Israel… In the meantime, Palestinians made lives on lands where Jews had previously lived.” This is an absolute fallacy.

There has never been a country called Israel in the history of the world.

In the early part of the last century when the United Kingdom was looking for a place for Jews because they were seen to be unwanted in their continent of the birth, Europe, they considered Uganda, British Guiana and Palestine. They eventually settled to establish Israel in Palestine.

However, Dr. Ramcharan, who must know this, chose to repeat that fiction to justify Israel’s murder of innocent babies, children, women and indeed the whole population of Palestinians. Dr. Ramcharan then went on to glorify the crimes of the Israeli, Apartheid, Fascist regime in many parts of the world. Most, if not all, were contrary to international law.

He must know that almost all the time Israel was the aggressor. It is now clear that they were very influential in getting the US to destroy Iraq on the grounds that Iraq had “weapons of mass destruction.” At that time Dr. Ramcharan was part of the UN system therefore, he had to be aware of Mr. Hans Blix, then the head of an inspection team who proved how wrong and unjustified that was. More than a million people were murdered by the US forces acting as proxies of Israel.

He lauded the works of one Cohen a former head of Israel Intelligence arm, Mossad, and quoted him as saying that he wants peace. Clearly that is more nonsense.

It is the Mossad that keeps killing all the persons who have been working for peace. In recent times Israel assassinated Iranians, Palestinians and others in the Middle East who were working for peace.

The US and Israel murdered Qassem Soleiman on January 3, 2020 in Iraq while on a peace mission. Israel assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas negotiation team in Tehran on 31st July 2024 while he was attending the inauguration of the new Iranian President. They bombed and killed Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah of Lebanon while he was at a meeting to discuss peace proposals with his colleagues on 27th September 2024. More recently they attempted the murder of Hamas negotiating team in Qatar while they were discussion Peace proposals given to them by the US.

This is the regime that Dr. Ramcharan seemingly admires so much.

Clearly Israel has no interest in peace. They want all of Palestine out of their territory and they are ready to kill the whole population in the Gaza and West Bank to achieve those ends. They have also made it clear that they want more, including a large part of Lebanon, parts of Syria, Egypt and Jordan.

It is unfortunate that Bertrand Ramcharran, a Guyanese, whose country principal leader Cheddi Jagan was an uncompromising fighter against colonialism and national oppression and was internationally acclaimed as one of the leading anti-colonial, anti-imperialist fighter, should find himself admiring and promoting an apartheid fascist regime. To do so he had to dabble in historical untruth and distortion.

Thank God, the British did not choose British Guiana for the creation of
an Israel state, if that is true, that is now run by Zionist Nazis, Apartheids.
All of British Guiana’s, now Guyana’s East Indians, Negroes, the other 4
races would have faced elimination, invaders, land grabbers, property stealers
bulldozing homes… the same they are doing in Palestine (Gaza) and West Bank.
