Dear Editor,
The Democratically Elected Government of Guyana needs to fix the water and electricity problems in Guyana as all of the other industries would rely on one or both of these utilities.
With Guyana having enough money now, there is no excuse for blackouts and poor water quality.
I understand that the GtE is soon to be partly commissioned which will be a boon to Guyanese. Unless, of course, the GtE plant blows out the electricity grid.
More needs to be done to improve water quality and quantity in not just Georgetown but also in the rural communities. The focus should be to get it right with these two utilities then focus on developing the villages. The other way (currently being utilised) is to develop the villages then realise that these new developments would need additional clean water and reliable electricity. The current way being used was when Guyana did not have the financial resources.
Sincerely,
Sean Ori
