Kaieteur Sports – Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) registered a commanding victory over Police Cricket Club, winning by an innings and 40 runs in their Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) First-Division Two-Day competition clash.
Playing at the Albion Community Centre ground, Police won the toss and elected to bat first but were dismissed for just 127 in 30.3 overs. Philbert Wilburg top-scored with 26, while K. Mentore (24), A. Grant (17), and Joel Seitram (15) offered some resistance.
For Albion, Kelvin Umroa claimed three wickets, while Leon Cecil, Shiv Harripersaud, and Gaurav Ramesh picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Albion piled on the runs, racing to 352 for 8 in 60 overs by the close of day one.
Their innings was highlighted by a brilliant 155 from Jonathan Foo, with support from Umroa (61), Damian Cecil (42), and Veerasammy Permaul (29).
Police bowlers K. Mentore, L. Mitchell, and P. James each took two wickets. Albion declared overnight, holding a massive 225-run lead.
Police fared better in their second innings but could only muster 185 in 47.5 overs.
Wilburg again led with 52, supported by Grant (48) and Seitram (23). Cecil destroyed the batting lineup with figures of 5 wickets, while Permaul chipped in with four.
