‘Deliver Region 10 to PPP and receive the priorities for your communities’ – Pres Ali tells Linden

Kaieteur News – President Irfaan Ali on Sunday urged the residents of Linden to deliver Region 10 to the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC) and all of the priorities of their communities will be realised.
He made the comments while speaking at the party’s elections campaign rally in the mining community. The President revealed that amongst the priorities highlighted by the residents were “transportation security, advanced health care, connectivity, agricultural support, land development, river erosion and sea defense, forest management, road development, a fuel depot, agro storage facility, electricity expansion with mini grid, mobile financial services, medical staffing and training, telecommunication infrastructure, waste resource management, mobile security, social programmes.”
Promising that each and every one will be addressed the president urged that in order for this to be done “…I want every village, and I want every community here in Linden tonight to assure me that you will deliver this region to The PPP civic so it will make it easier. If you deliver the region, you will remove the bureaucracy, you will remove the blockade, and you will make it easier for us to do it.”
Ali highlighted that the difference with the PPPC and the other political parties is that it is concerned with all things no matter the size. Hence, he said all of the priorities raised by residents whether big or small will be addressed within the next five years. “You raised and I listened, I guarantee you they will come in here next Saturday for rally and the others will come. They are going to copy word for word. But I can assure you they can’t deliver one thing to the people of this country, and that is why we need an overwhelming majority, and that is why we need this region,” the President stated.
The Head-of-State revealed that drainage seems to be a priority that was raised by several villages and in the second term his government will be rebuilding the drainage network in full concrete. Another shared priority is creek maintenance, he promised that his administration will take it a step further by purchasing the equipment and bringing the villagers together and will hand over the said equipment, therefore giving them the responsibility to maintain the creek on their own.
Closing off his address President Ali urged Lindeners that come September 1 they should make the right decision, as it is a choice that will influence their future, the implementation of their community priorities, and also the expansion of services to the indigenous communities.
