Kaieteur Sports – The place to be is the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) today. Thousands are expected to swarm the prestigious venue for their much-anticipated Emancipation Horse Race Meet today, August 3.
Situated at Bush Lot Farm Corentyne, Berbice, the Club is known for staging high-quality horse race meets with today’s event expected to be one such affair.
Close to 50 horses have entered for the Meet, which has six exciting races on the card. Nearly GYD$5M in cash, trophies and other memorabilia will be available for the outstanding performers.
The feature E2 and lower event has a fantastic line-up and has all the ingredients for a feature match-up and a ding-dong affair is anticipated.
The likes of Stormy Victory, Morning Colours, Wild Texas Tom, Beckham James, El Tarzan, Creemore, Full Liberty, Principe Joaquim and Full Force will be going full force to capture the $500,000 and trophy available for the winner.
Another top race is the event for H and Lower animals for a winner’s take of $400,000 and a trophy over seven furlongs.
The other top-notch event is the race for animals classified I3 and lower over five furlongs. The winning prize is another $300,000 take along with a trophy.
Guyana Bred two-year old animals will hit the track in a five-furlong affair for an encouraging first prize of $300,000 and a trophy.
The other two events are the event for J Class animals and the L Class animals Open. Bother are over six furlongs for a top prize of $300,000 and a trophy.
Trophy Stall will be presenting accolades to the top stable, jockey and trainer, among others.
The J Supermarket and Racing Stables has added its name to the list of sponsors that includes Trophy Stall, Colin Elcock Delmur Company Limited, Mike Pharmacy, Muneshwar Company Limited, Survival Supermarket, Patsan Trading Establishment, David Persaud Investments, The Majeed Family, Amco Construction Company, Blue Seenarine, Rohan Auto Sales, Devanand Sawh Mechanical Work Shop and Joe Jagmohan.
The day’s events will be held using the rules of the KMTC.
