Renegades to headline Edge Series 3×3 Basketball Tournament

Kaieteur Sports – Renegades, made up of Travis Belgrave, Nikkoli Smith, Shelroy Thomas, and Harold Adams, enter as the top-seeded team at this weekend’s highly anticipated Edge Series 3×3 Basketball Tournament, organised by Edge Sports Management.
Widely regarded as Guyana’s premier 3×3 basketball quartet, all four players have proudly represented the Golden Arrowhead at numerous international 3×3 tournaments, most recently at the prestigious FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup in Puerto Rico.
Their experience, chemistry, and elite skill set position them as the favorites heading into the competition.
Founded by two-time Guyanese Olympian and national table tennis standout Chelsea Edghill, the Edge Series is a multi-sport initiative showcasing 3×3 Basketball, Cycling, and Table Tennis.
The basketball edition will be held from July 12–13 at the National Gymnasium in Georgetown.
Adding an exciting international element to the tournament is the participation of Suriname’s top teams, “Su Warriors” and “Incredibles.”
Their involvement highlights the regional appeal of the Edge Series and strengthens cross-border sporting ties between Guyana and Suriname.

It also raises the competitive bar, as local teams will have the opportunity to test their mettle against proven regional opponents.
Joining Renegades and the Surinamese squads are some of Guyana’s top emerging and established teams, including Dream Chasers, 3lements, ATML, Aces, Demerara Panthers, Kwakwani Untouchables, Linden Shooters, Mambas, Team Agricola, Team P, Young Gunz, The Boys, and UG Trojans.
These teams will battle for the tournament’s top prize of $500,000. The second and third-place teams will take home $300,000 and $200,000 respectively.
Day One action tips off at 1:00 pm, while Day Two begins at 2:00 pm, culminating with the championship game set for 7:00 pm.
Tournament founder Chelsea Edghill expressed her delight at the overwhelming response from the local basketball community.
She noted that the inclusion of two Surinamese teams adds valuable international exposure and competitive intensity to the tournament.
The Edge Series 3×3 is just the second 3×3 basketball tournament to be held in Guyana for the year, with organisers noting that it will set the tone for the other events later this month.
Edghill also emphasised that the event will be a family-friendly affair and encouraged fans to come out and support the teams.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF), which is providing technical support for the tournament, described the Edge Series as an essential addition to its domestic calendar.
The GBF reiterated its commitment to expanding the 3×3 format in Guyana and commended the quality of organisation behind the event.
