Westside Golf Course to Host Acado Golf Skills Tournament today
Kaieteur Sports – Westside Golf Course will host the exciting Acado Golf Skills Tournament on today, Sunday, July 19, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, followed by a live viewing of the FIFA World Cup Final at the course’s restaurant and entertainment area.
The tournament is designed to introduce more people to golf through a fun, skills-based format and is open to beginners of all ages. Separate categories will be contested for women, men, and children, with competitors battling for Acado product hampers, trophies, and ultimate bragging rights.

The Acado Group, one of Guyana’s largest and most respected business groups, has built a strong reputation for supporting community development through sponsorship of numerous sporting, educational, and youth initiatives, with a particular focus on empowering women and children. Its continued investment in grassroots sports reflects a commitment to healthier, more active communities across Guyana.
The event forms part of the ongoing partnership between the Guyana Golf Association and Nexgen Golf Academy, which continues to promote golf as a sport for everyone by providing free introductory training and enjoyable competitions for persons of all ages and abilities.
Hosted at Westside Golf Course—Guyana’s only public, non-membership golf facility—the event demonstrates that golf is accessible and affordable for everyone. Unlike traditional private clubs, Westside welcomes beginners, families, schools, and visitors, offering a friendly environment where anyone can learn and enjoy the game without the need for membership.
A small entry fee applies, with golf clubs and balls provided for all participants. Every registered player will also receive a complimentary lunch, making it a fun-filled afternoon for the entire family.
