Kaieteur Sports – Trophy Stall Legends are set to defend their title at this year’s Independence Softball Cup which is slated for June 27-29 in New York.
The three-day extravaganza will be hosted by New York Softball Cricket League and will have teams from Guyana, Canada and USA participating.
It will be held in three categories: Legends (Over-50), Masters (Over-40) and Open, All-Stars. All will be T20s.
The team (Trophy Stall) will have a list of prominent softball players in their lineup. Trophy Stall Legends captured the trophy in 2024 and are confident they can repeat similar success.
According to the owner of the team, Ramesh Sunich, he is anticipating fierce competition in the Legends category but very optimistic that his players would do well.
He added that veteran softball batsman Samuel Kingston is included and he will definitely boost the batting department.
Meanwhile, Regional Cricket Commentator Inderjeet Persaud wished Trophy Stall side good luck at the mega softball event and he too is very confident that Trophy Stall will bring back the trophy in Guyana.
Persaud, who does softball commentary at the annual Prime Minister’s Softball cup three-day tournament in Georgetown, is elated to see the inclusion of Kingston as well.
Over ten teams will be participating in the Legends Division.
