Kaieteur Sports- Two teams scored victories when the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and The Guyana Cricket Board (MCYS/GCB) One PATHWAY countrywide under-21 inter club competition got cracking in Berbice.
One game was played on Saturday while the other was contested on Sunday. Both matches were played at The Port Mourant Community Centre Ground on the Corentyne.
In the Saturday Game, RHTYSC B defeated Police CC by two wickets. Taking first strike Police were dismissed for 156 in 27 overs with Benjamin top scoring with 45 and L. Williams 16 being the principal scorers.
Bowling for RHTYSC B, M. Rampersaud picked up 4 -29 with D. Mckenzie grabbing 2.
In reply RHTYSC B reached 158-7 with L. Reddy making 41 and D. Seepersaud 24.
Bowling for Police T. McPherson and S. Grant snared 2 wickets each.
In the second game on Sunday, Bush Lot United Cricket Club defeated Blairmont Community Centre Cricket Club by 3 wks.
Blairmont CCCC batted first and were bowled out for 90. There were no significant scores from any of the batsmen.
Bowling for Bush Lot United CCC Tulsiram Ramcharran led the way with 4-15, while support came from Latchman Dhanna who took 3 wickets. In their turn at the wicket, Bush Lot United CC reached 91-3 with Justin Doobay being undefeated on 41.
