Kaieteur Sports- The stage is set for an electrifying quarterfinal showdown as the top eight teams gear up for battle in the 2025 Milo/Massy Secondary Schools Under-18 Football Championship. The prestigious tournament, now in its 11th edition, is organised by the Petra Organisation, Guyana’s leading grassroots football body, promises high-stakes action as teams fight for a place in the final four.
After four rounds of intense competition, defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation look well on course to retain their title. With three convincing victories from four games, Chase’s have been clinical and consistent. Led by their sensational captain Bryan Wharton, who has already netted a remarkable 14 goals; including a hat-trick, a four-goal haul, and another treble, Chase’s remain the team to beat.
Their closest challengers include Dolphin Secondary, a perennial contender who continue to impress with disciplined performances and standout displays from midfield general Jomal Williams, who has scored several key goals throughout the tournament. Other notable quarterfinalists include President’s College, the surprise package of the competition after their impressive win over Santa Rosa Secondary last weekend, and Three Mile Secondary, Bush Lot Secondary, Charlestown Secondary, West Ruimveldt Secondary, and Waramuri Top Secondary, all of whom have played some eye-catching football.
The tournament has been a showcase of individual brilliance. In addition to Wharton and Williams, other standout scorers include Daren Williams, Queancy Fraser, and Devon Chance, all of whom have recorded hat-tricks. Meanwhile, Kymani Sandy and Isaiah Ifill both bagged four-goal hauls, lighting up the competition with moments of magic, from unstoppable free kicks to ice-cool penalties and masterful assists.
With the Round of 16 now concluded, all eyes turn to the quarterfinals, which will take place tomorrow (Sunday) at the Ministry of Education Ground, beginning at 12:00 noon. Gates open from 11:30 AM, and fans are encouraged to come early and witness the excitement firsthand.

Tomorrow’s matchups are expected to be pulsating action. Three Mile Secondary and Dolphin Secondary will open the quarter final stage both teams, equal to the task ahead, will be looking to come out victorious. After that, Bush Lot Secondary will face off with title-bound Chase’s Academic Foundation in match #46.
The third clash between President’s College and West Ruimveldt is a must-see; both sides are relatively young but have been packing a good punch in the competition so far, while in the final quarterfinal fixture Waramuri Secondary will take on Charlestown Secondary, another matchup that could go either way. To witness the action live, gates open at 11:30 hours; see which teams will advance and who will go home.
