2026 Guyana Harpy Eagles Regional 4-Day preparations…. Practice Match 2, Day 2
Kaieteur Sports – A battle-tested half-century from opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Junior Sinclair’s 5-fer and Anthony Adams’ 4 wickets headlined a mixed second day of action when the Guyana Harpy Eagles preparatory match continued yesterday at Everest.
Day 2 focused heavily on individual pre-season form as well as important performances in the match which could have huge implications today.
Nandu XI eventually folded for 146 in their 1st innings despite putting in some work during the final session of day 1 to reach 51-1 from 27 overs.
Chanderpaul, who resumed his innings on 30, went onto score an ultra-gritty 64 off a whopping 239 balls with just 5 fours; demonstrating focus and application but was unfortunately denied a bigger score despite his efforts.
Kemol Savory (18) added 12 runs to his overnight total while Ari Kadir (14) and Veerasammy Permaul (14) were the other notable scorers for Nandu XI.
Following the exploits of Permaul on day one with his 4 wickets, another veteran left-arm spinner in Anthony Adams starred with 4-32 from 15.1 overs.
However, it was a swift death for the Imlach XI in their second innings, falling to the guile of spinner Junior Sinclair who snared magical figures of 5-11 from just 11 overs which kept the opposition to 92-10 in 24.5 overs.
Resistance came from all-rounder Jonathan Van Lange who scored 38 off 43, leading the boundary scoring with 4 fours and a six.
Wicket-keeper Tomanni Ceasar (19) and Kevlon Anderson (14) were the other batsmen to reach double figures.
Medium-pacer Keemo Paul bagged 2-14 along with fellow seamer Nial Smith (1-20) and spinner Zeynul Ramsammy (1-2), playing their part in the dramatic collapse of Imlach and his men.
Action continues today. (C. Ross)
