Kaieteur News- Five bandits wearing ski-masks reportedly cut their way through a roof during the wee hours of Friday to rob Nadira’s Supermarket located at First Street, Patentia, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
The owner, popularly known as Uncle Vick, is offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest of the delinquents who carted away jewellery and a significant amount cash.
Anyone who can solve this case are asked to make contact with the nearest Police Station in the Region Three district or call telephone numbers, 691-0678 or 623-5425.
“Uncle Vick told Kaieteur News that he lives upstairs and the Supermarket is located on the bottom flat of the two storey-property.
He was not around when the men invaded but his son.
His son recalled that that they invaded between 02:00 and 03:00 hrs on Friday. Outnumbered and fearful for his lives there was not much he could have done.
After bagging off their loot they left via the backdoor and from the behind the property.
“Everyone is expressing outrage (at the crime)”, Uncle Vick noted.
The perpetrators somehow managed to evade being captured on security cameras close by.
Investigators, according to the businessman, are doing the best they can to identify the bandits and arrest them but his family would appreciate all the help they can get to capture them quickly before they rob again.
