Kaieteur News – De country stumble pun a new national sport: blackout bingo. Under the PPPC government, power outages have become as regular as yuh morning cup of coffee, and just as bitter. De lights going off and on as if dem is fairy lights on a Christmas tree.
De blame game ensues, with accusations tossed around like dices. One party blaming de odder fuh not making investment in power infrastructure fuh cater for increased demand. De odder side claiming dat de government mismanaging de sector.
But leh we pause for a moment and consider a novel solution to this electrifying dilemma. If the PPPC seems to be dancing to the blackout bug’s tune, perhaps it’s time to change the conductor. Instead of political power sharing, why not opt for something a tad more illuminating – let the Opposition tek charge of de power company!
After all, during the time of the APNU+AFC in government, we did not have all these blackouts. Under this proposed arrangement, every time de lights dim, it wouldn’t be a political showdown but a heroic display of unity. Opposition members would swoop in, armed with expertise in power management and a commitment to keeping the nation bright. No longer would we fear the darkness, for the Opposition would be our guiding light, quite literally.
Of course, there would be challenges. The government might feel a tad uneasy relinquishing control of such a crucial aspect of governance. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
So, dear readers, let’s embrace this electrifying proposal for power sharing. Let’s cast aside the blackout bug and usher in a new era of illumination, where the Opposition takes the reins of the power company, and together, we shine brighter than ever before. Who knows, maybe we’ll even earn ourselves a new national motto: “In blackout or brightness, united we stand!”
