Rain forced the stoppage of play in Round 1 of the CWI U15 Rising Stars 50-Over Championships yesterday.
Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s highly anticipated match versus Barbados was abandoned without a ball being bowled yesterday, when Round one of the CWI U15 Rising Stars 50-Over Championships bowled off across Antigua.
Guyana will have now set sights on round two’s encounter versus Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, after yesterday’s opening match was spoiled thanks to torrential showers which seemingly ravaged parts of the islands.
Another match which suffered a No-result was the battle between Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago.
The Windwards managed to reach 83-4 in 17.2 overs before showers forced a stoppage in play; which eventually resulted in the match being called off.
Also, Leeward Islands, who were 133-7 when rain stopped play, never got the opportunity to take the field again as officials called time on their encounter.
Round 2 is set for tomorrow, Thursday March 28, with Jamaica playing Windward Islands while Leeward Islands battle Barbados; with action bowling off from 9:30h respectively.
