Kaieteur Sports – The final leg in the National Draughts Association Annual competition will be played tomorrow, Sunday at the Transport Sports Club pavilion. The game would be played on the 100 International square boards. The competition is opened to all Draughts players countrywide.
Registration starts at 10:00am and game time is 10:30am. Registration fee is $500 per person. This weekend’s game is expected to be very competitive as last Sunday’s. Players are improving rapidly and have proven their charge to attain international standards.
Pan am Draughts is fixed for April 2024 in Puerto Rico. If all goes well financially, the top player from this competition is most likely to have the pick once he’s capable overall. The last Pan am Draughts was played in Santo Domingo in October 2022 but financial assistance from the NSC failed to show resulting in Guyana’s non-attendance.
Trophies and medals would be presented to the winners.
GT WINES have made available three bottles of special labelled wines depicting the Draughts Association. The wines would be used to toast in the presentations. This was acquired through Mr. Paul D’Anjou, secretary of the Association.
Guyana Beverage Inc. remained out beverage provider.
