– Four to represent Lusignan Golf Club
Kaieteur Sports – As the Tobago Open 2023 tees off today, the Lusignan Golf Club will be represented by four of their seasoned players at the Tobago Plantations Golf Course, Magdalena, Tobago. These players are Pope Emmanuel London, Hardeo Ghanpat, Rackesh Harry and Shanella London. The tournament will run until July 16, 2023.
The format of the tournament for the men will be Better Ball, while the lone female format will be Stableford. The LGC contingent will be competing in the following categories: Championship 5.0 and Lower, 1st Flight 5.1 to 10.0, 2nd Flight 10.1 to 17.5, 3rd Flight 17.6 and over andLadies Any Handicap.
Heading into the tournament, here is what the players had to say…
Pope Emmanuel London: “I have an open mind going into the tournament, I can only do my best. I am confident in my ability to swing, I can play according to my handicap. Concerning the course, I have never seen it, but I am hoping that it is friendly.”
Rackesh Harry: “I am looking forward for this tournament since this is the first time I am going to Tobago. I am focusing on the basics of golfing and hoping to get a positive result. I am very confident that I will do well since I am in good form and hope to take away a prize. I am hoping the course will play like millennium in Trinidad since I have played there a few times there.”

Shanella London, Pope Emmanuel London, Hardeo Ganpat and Rackesh Harry are representing the LGC at the Tobago Open.
Hardeo Ghanpat: “Heading into the tournament, my mindset is to play to win. I am 100% confident and while I have not played there, I am optimistic of my chances.”
Shanella London: “My mindset is to do my best by the grace of God, I have faith in my abilities as I have won the Guyana Open five times and the Suriname Open three times. I know I can do it, I have no idea of how the course will play as this is my first time in Tobago.”
The Guyanese contingent has stated that feeling great to be representing the country. They have also touted that everyone is excited to try their hands at the course and regain their feel of the game, as they are all really excited and looking forward to participating in the Tobago Open.
