Guyana- is the tale of a sad country messed up by PPPC

Dear Editor,

Kaieteur News – Under the British masters, we have endured it all. It reached to the point of seeking independence. But today we are still trapped. Guyanese are uncertain whether it is under the PPP/ C, APNU+AFC or British rule, which is the worst. We are heading into a full blown dictatorship where everything revolves around PPP/C. It’s an unhealthy democracy to thrive in where the one country wants to dominate every aspect.

Nothing is free from the shackles of PPP/ C. Every institution is crowded with PPP/ C supporters. The truth is people have no choice, because at the end if you want to achieve some form of prosperity, then you have no choice. If you want contract, if you want government work, if you want something service from government, then you have to be a supporter. This is a sad affair.

Today, we are worst off under PPPC as we were under British rule. All institutions are dominated by people. No space is left for those who dare harbor a neutral voices.

Take a look at the constitutional institutions:

GECOM: This is sacked by individuals who where nominated and supported by PPPC Commissioners. The Chairman votes majority at time with PPP Commissioners views.

2.Ethnic Relations Commission: Again, majority of the Commissioners are party commoraides This no neutral position can be ever derived from this group.

Rights of Child and Women. Another filled with PPPC supporters.
Human Rights Commission: Non existence only to the filled soon by PPPC apologists.
Parliament: Dominated by PPPC, hence no space for proper accountability
Police Force: Today, political works such as Men on Mission get the police force parading like ordinary civilians.
Ministry of Education: School children have to line up in sun, wearing One Guyana to welcome the president. These are features of a communism state as One China, One Russia. What’s the obsession by President to have school children greeting him at his outreaches
Abuse of State Resources: From media, to campaign, state resources are abused. This is a local government election and government is seen tagging supporters while doing government works. Monitors of elections should not this. Now their goal is to win all municipality. More PPPC means less democracy at local level.
Interference with the Media: it is sad to see how the government is the invisible but direct hand in causing disruption in the media election. As an arm of government, the media should always be impartial. This doesn’t happened in Guyana. Newsroom parrots, DPI. DPI parrots Guyana Times and the list goes on.
Oil: PPPC government is nothing short of being a hypocrite and shameful. Why would the challenge the judge’s decision on EPA.
May- Embarrassment: lack of information. Today, after a failed attempt to save May, the PS, Guyanese are still left in the dark.
Judge’s Appointment: Still in limbo

Looks like Guyana is trapped by a party which thinks it has a monopoly over Guyana. The list goes on. Who will save us? When is the next independence?
