Bartica Business Development Committee established for 2022 Summer Regatta

With the aim of organizing and hosting the Bartica Summer Regatta 2022, and also for a sustained service to the town of Bartica, a number of local business persons and sport enthusiasts have come together to form the Bartica Business Development Committee (BBDC).

In that regard, an Executive Committee of the organization has been identified, comprising of the following officers: President – Chunilall Baboolall, Vice President – Stephen Belle, Secretary – Alden Marslowe, Treasurer – Ewrin Ward, Assistant Secretary – Reubica Ramgulam and Committee Members – Devnarine Persaud, Jermaine Joseph, George Benjamin and Jayden Browne.
The BBDC has subsequently identified the day of Sunday, July 24, 2022, as the date for the hosting of the Regatta Powerboat Races at the Bartica Golden Beach, which will be supported by a line of activities covering a period of two weeks prior.
With this event being the first venture of the group, the B.B.D.C. is intent on giving back to the community of Bartica in a meaningful way, at the conclusion of the venture.
They will also explore maintaining the purpose of the committee, to promote and encourage the development of businesses within their community. Additionally, the committee wishes to plan and execute similar projects in the future, to raise funds for its work and also for input towards meaningful local causes.
The proposed Programme of Activities will include the following:
• Official Launch and Fashion Show – July 10 – Aruwai Resort
• Cricket Finals and Fun Day – July 17 – Community Centre Ground
• Karaoke Competition – July 19 – Upper Level Restaurant
• Comedy Explosion – July 21 – Palm Springs Hotel & Bar
• Motorcade – July 22 – Around Bartica
• Football Finals – July 22 – Community Centre Ground
• Grass Track Motorcycle Races – July 23 – Community Centre Ground
• Summer Road Jam – July 23 – Bartica Stelling Square
• “Run Bartica” Road Race – July 24 – Agatash Village to Bartica
• Bartica River Swim – July 24 – Bartica Golden Beach
• Regatta Power Boat Races and Beach Party – July 24 – Bartica Golden Beach
