Kaieteur News – GTT has signed on as the main sponsor of the Community Cup eight-a-side bat your own Tapeball Cricket competition that will be played on the National Cultural Center Tarmac, Saturday and Sunday, March 12-13.
The tournament, which begins at 10:00hrs, will attract a first prize of $100,000 and the GTT Trophy, while the second prize will be $60,000 and a trophy from GTT. Teams have until Thursday March 10th to register, the organiser, James Lewis, has indicated that there will be no late registrations.
The tournament will be spilt into two groups with the first consisting of Ministry teams, while group B will comprise of community teams, battling in a straight knock-out format.
All players must be fully vaccinated. In order to register, interesting teams can do so by contacting the organisers; the Georgetown Office Assistants Promotion Committee, or Lewis on 625-9007.
