Kaieteur News – A 53-year-old boat captain is now hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) following an ATV motor vehicle accident in the North West District, Region One, on Friday.
The injured man was identified as Clarence Williams of Citrus Grove, Port Kaituma.
Reports are that the accident occurred at around 14:07 hrs. on Floor Access Road, Port Kaituma.
According to a police report, Williams was riding an unregistered ATV motor vehicle, which was traveling north along the western side of the road at a fast rate. While negotiating a right turn, Williams reportedly lost control and toppled over in northwestern direction. He was picked in unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Port Kaituma District Hospital where he was examined by a doctor who later referred him to the GPHC for further medical attention.
He was admitted as a patient. Kaieteur News understands that man is suffering from head injuries. Investigation is in progress.
