“It’s almost eight months since she was murdered and we are still not getting any information from the police. I will be offering $600,000 to anyone who can provide me with substantial information on my mother’s death.”
The foregoing were the words of the only surviving child of the victim, Makada Oudkerk.
In a recent interview with Kaieteur News, Ms. Oudkerk said that she will be adding $400, 000 to the already offered $200,000 for information relating to her mother’s murder.
Kaieteur News understands that some five months after the murder, police issued a wanted bulletin for a Cuban national who was wanted for questioning in connection with the brutal murder.
The suspect, who is still at large, has been identified as 31-year-old Lopez Perez Jair.
On October, 11, 2019, 67-year-old Marva Oudkerk was found dead in her Lot 241 Bourda Street, Georgetown home with a mosquito net tightly wrapped around her neck.
But the victim’s daughter is still hoping that one day the pepetrator will be caught in order for her to get some closure.
A post mortem that was conducted on the remains of the woman showed that she died from asphyxiation.
This information had prompted the family to offer a reward in an effort to solicit information that can aid police in finding the perpetrator.
According to sources, a video footage obtained from a nearby CCTV camera revealed that there was someone gaining entry into the woman’s home on the night of the deadly incident.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect gained entry into the woman’s home by removing three flooring boards. An undisclosed sum of cash was removed from the building.
