…as Education Ministry, BK Int’l sign contract
The Ministry of Education yesterday signed an $826.7M contract with BK International Inc. for construction of the Yarrowkabra Secondary School on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway. The signing took place at the Ministry’s Brickdam office.

According to the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Alfred King, the construction of the school is aimed towards making education accessible by providing quality educational spaces to all students.
The school, which is being funded by the Government, will be built with the capacity to accommodate some 600 students. The duration of the contract is one year.

Chief Executive Officer of BK International Inc, Mr. Brian Tiwari, said his company was more than happy to be associated with the ministry to construct the school, and assured that all works will be done in accordance with the required standard and best practices.
After the school’s completion, it is expected to serve students in Yarrowkabra and other neighbouring communities on the Linden Highway. The construction works will be supervised by VIKAB Engineering Consultants Ltd.
The school will be outfitted with the modern amenities, inclusive of Information Technology Laboratories, Allied Arts Department, Library, Science Laboratories and an auditorium.
