Fans in the Bartica and Essequibo areas would have an opportunity to witness first hand, action in the 2019/2020 edition of the GFF Super League when their respective top teams welcome Elite League sides in their quest to move into the quarter finals.
It would be the third night of rivalry in this year’s tournament, last night it all unfolded at the BV Ground on the East Coast after kicking off on Sunday last at the Police Sports Club Ground Eve Leary in the City.
Two more teams would have walked the plank and two more would be following suit after tonight’s play at the Bartica Community Centre Ground and Queenstown Ground on the Essequibo Coast.
Rivers View FC, the top team in Bartica would have been going through their paces in preparation for their clash against Western Tigers from 20:30hrs and fans in the gateway to El Dorado would be combining support to ensure that their team can spring a huge surprise in downing the Tigers which will no doubt, be thinking otherwise.
Head Coach Wayne ‘Wiggy’ Dover has been putting in a lot of work with his charges to bring them up to the level that would be required to contain a Western Tigers unit that is expected to be harsh on their opponents.
Dover along with his Assistant, Aloysius Edwards, Ansel Edwards, Andrew Simmons, Andel Norton, Godfrey Norton, Eon Adams, Mark Richards, Ryan Andries, George Mentis, Travis Burnette along with Dwayne Blake, Romario James and Shaquille Hopkinson the three guest players would hope to deliver a win for the home team.
Western Tigers’ challenge from a tactical perspective would have been in the hands of former national players, Patrice Ram (Head Coach) and his Assistant, Charles ‘Lily’ Pollard. On field execution will come from the likes of Andrew Murray, Phillip Rowley, Randolph Wagner, Curtez Kellman, elder statesman Anthony Abrams, Kwadjo Garnett, Jamal Pedro and guest players, Kendolph Lewis, Clive Nobrega and Sheldon Holder.
In Essequibo, the GDF FC’s quest for an opening win will be led by the Fraser brothers, Delwin and Delroy, Olvis Mitchell, Benjamin Opara, Eusi Phillips, Shawn Arthur, Amos Ramsey, Colin Nelson, Kevin Layne, Travis Henry, Jerome Richardson, Sherwin Caesar and Ryan Searles, the lone guest player.
