The Guyana Football Federation Inc. (GFF) will convene an Extraordinary Congress on Saturday November 9th, 2019 at 10:00hrs at the Pegasus Hotel. Presidents and Honorary Members of the Regional Member Associations, Member Affiliates, Member Clubs, Executive Committee, and Electoral Committee would have all been notified that The Extraordinary Congress would be convened in accordance with Article 30 (1) of the GFF Constitution on October 12th, 2019.
Article 30 (1) stipulates that, “The Members shall be informed of the place, date and agend
a at least three weeks before the date of an Extraordinary Congress.
If in the event an item on the agenda foresees an election or ratification, the Members shall submit their respective slate of Candidates at least two weeks before the Extraordinary Congress. In this case, the official slates of candidates must be sent to the Members one week before the Extraordinary Congress at the latest.
The agenda of an Extraordinary Congress may not be altered under any circumstances.” Composition of Congress – In keeping with Article 22 of the GFF Constitution, which governs the Congresses Delegates and Votes, the GFF wishes to draw the following critical points and deadlines to your attention:
1. Congress Delegates – Each eligible member may be represented at the Congress by a maximum of two (2) delegates, who can both take part in the debates, but each member will only have one (1) vote.
Members are requested to inform the Federation’s Secretariat, in writing, who will be their Congress Delegates (and two alternates), including the one with the right to vote, on or before Friday, November 1, 2019.
Only invited Delegates are invited to attend the Congress. The Agenda for GFF Extraordinary Congress on November 9th, 2019: 1. Welcome by the President 2. Roll Call and Declaration that the Congress has been convened and composed in compliance with the GFF Inc. Constitution 3. Appointment of Scrutineers 4. Approval of the Agenda 5. Appointment of Members to Check the Minutes 6. Presentation of the Budget for the year 2020 7. Approval of the Budget 8. Presentation of Sexual Harassment Policy 9. Approval of Sexual Harassment Policy 10. President’s Activity Report 11. Election of the Members of the Executive Committee 12. The President’s Remarks.
The Election of the GFF Executive Committee will be conducted in accordance with Article 10 of the GFF Electoral Code which stipulates, “The slates of candidates shall be sent by recorded post or delivered in exchange for confirmation of receipt to the general secretariat of the GFF at least 3 weeks before the General Meeting is held. These slates shall be forwarded immediately to the electoral committee.”
