The Wisburg Secondary School Ground is the venue for today’s semi finals of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power U-17 League being contested in the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA).
Defending champions Milerock and last year’s runner-up, Botafago can likely meet again as they take on different opponents today. Milerock are slated to clash with Eagles United in the first semi from 14:00hrs while Botafago will oppose Amelia’s Ward United.
Eagles United and Amelia’s Ward United copped their places in the semifinals by identical wins on Wednesday. Amelia’s Ward United came away with victory compliments of a goal in the 23rd minute by Shadrack McKenzie for their 1-0 win over Topp XX while Eagles United eliminated Hi Stars when the goal of that game was registered by Omar Duke in the 58th minute.
In charting their way, Botafago downed Coomacka 4-2 behind goals from Karden Samuels (11th), Adrian Samuels (23rd), Tyreese David (41st) and Kareem Bizzeth in the 60th minute as the scorers for Coomacka were Javante Lewis who netted in the 57thminute and Jose Adams, one minute later. Milerock also won their match via a 4-2 score line.
