The Police in B Division, Berbice, continue to engage the community in various activities as they endeavour to be more community friendly.
On Thursday, ranks of Subdivision No 3, led by Officer in Charge,
Superintendent M. Singh and assisted by members of Haniff Little Angels Group, distributed haversacks and school supplies to 38 children between the ages of seven and 12 years old.
The activity was held at the Fort Wellington Police Station Canteen.
The children were drawn from the various youth groups across the Number 3 Sub Division (West Berbice). The Haniff group supported with meals for each child present.
This presentation makes good of the promise by the police to ensure that children in need receive the support to ensure an education which will eventually aid the overall drive to improve literacy of our youths and drive them away from idle practices.
The venture is also part of their community enhancement programme to aid in children’s academic pursuits.
