On a day blessed with glorious sunshine during this unpredictable weather pattern, the Kumar Rampat Cricket Academy (KRCA) produced a vastly improved performance at Everest yesterday but while the visitors are getting better accustomed the tracks in Guyana as the tour progresses they lost to the East Coast U-15s by eight wickets.
The Trinidad Academy, who play their last game today, achieved their first target yesterday on a slow track and heavy outfield, when they batted out the 40 overs reaching 112-9 when their overs expired but East Coast reached 113-2 in 23 overs as they chased the small target as Anthony Khan led the fight with six fours in his 49.
Earlier, KRCA were asked to bat and the pint sized 12-year-old opener Ethon Lalla demonstrated wonderful temperament and sound technique before he was run out for 16 from 46 balls.
Lalla and Aadian Racha, who hit a boundary in his 10, gave the tourists a solid if slow start before Racha was bowled by leg spinner Nicolas Seepersaud before Adam Lutawan who pulled Seepersaud for four, became the second of four run out victims when departed for four at 38-2.

12-year-old Ethon Lalla showed promising temperament in his 46-balls 16 despite being in check by off spinner Ajay Gainda at Everest.
Watched by a fair size gathering, which included parents of KRCA players and members of the Western Union Malteenoes Cricket Academy, Keron Ramoutar (2) was bowled by Josh Alves at 47-4 as National U-17 off-spinner Ajay Gainda bowled a frugal five-over spell which cost just two and looked a promising prospect.
Deonarine, who looked assertive and swept Seepersaud and Khan for boundaries, was just beginning to settle in but was in danger of running out of partners when Alon Roy (2) was bowled by Chanderpaul Ramraj at 80 and although Deonarine, who reached the boundary four times, attempted to ‘up the tempo’ two more run outs resulted in last six wickets falling for 32 runs.
When East Coast began their chase, Rasha made an early break through when he induced Mark Suhki (2) to hit a catch to mid-off with just 12 runs on the boards to the delight of fans from Carnival Country.
But Khan and Ajay Gainda played an array of delightful shots and added 92 for the second wicket before Khan got a leading edge to Bradly Jagernauth and taken at cover with victory just 10 runs away.
Alves (7*) joined Gainda, who finished not out on 24, saw their team to victory. (Sean Devers)
