The Guyana Police Force will soon benefit from an infrastructural boost, as the Ministry of Public Security, under whose purview it falls, will be rolling out a number of projects in this regard shortly.
Bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) for eight projects in total to construct divisional headquarters for the Force in Mabaruma, Region 1; Fort Wellington, Region 5: Mahdia, Region 8; Anna Regina Region 2 and Diamond, Region 4.
All of the bids for these projects ranged in excess of 200 million and 300 million dollars, while all engineer’s estimates were in excess of 200M. Those earmarked for rehabilitation saw bids ranging from 40 to 70 million dollars and the engineer’s estimates were in excess of $50M.
Other notable projects were University of Guyana (Delivery of Two 15-Seater Minibuses), Ministry of Public Infrastructure – HECI Supply of LED Street Lamps for Lethem Power Co. Inc and Supply and Commissioning of One New 825 KW Generator for Kwakwani Utilities.
