Following the conclusion of play in the respective Regional Member Associations (RMA), the playoffs’ draw for the first Guyana Football Federation (GFF)-KFC National under-20 championships was held yesterday morning at the sponsor’s Vlissengen Road branch. The respective winners and runners up of each association with the exception of Rupununi, who gained a bye, were entered into the draw.

The match ups are as follows:
Draw
1. Timehri Panthers vs. Soesdyke Falcons
2. New Amsterdam United vs. Amelia’s Ward Panthers
3. Botafago FC vs. Den Amstel FC
4. Potaro Strikers vs. Dynamic FC
5. Fruta Conquerors vs. Cougars FC
6. Buxton United vs. Queenstown FC
7. Santos FC vs. Pouderoyen FC
Rupununi (drew a bye) vs. winner of match seven (7)
The first of these matches are scheduled to kickoff this weekend at the GFF National Training Center at Providence on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) with Timehri Panthers playing Falcons in the first game at 09:00hrs followed by Botofago FC versus Den Amstel in game two at 11:00hrs and NA United vs. Panthers FC at 13:00rs and the round of 16 match of the day will see Potaro Strikers FC matching skills with Dynamic FC at 15:30hrs.
Head of the GFF Competitions Division, Ian Alves, noted that during the playoffs, there will be a total of 20 minutes extra time after any drawn match before kicks from the penalty mark if needed. Teams will be allowed a total of five (5) substitutions.
At the culmination of the tournament on July 1st, there will be a grand presentation of prizes to the top three (3) teams to the tune of: 1st – $500,000 + Trophy + Medals, 2nd – $300,000 + Trophy + Medals 3rd – $200,000 + Trophy + Medals.
