A father of two from Lot 97 Costello Housing Scheme, was released on bail after making an appearance in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday for two allegations of damage to property.
Robert Cox, after listening to the charges read to him by Senior Magistrate Faith McGusty, denied them. It is alleged that on October 14, 2018 at Costello Housing Scheme, he damaged one chair set valued at $70,000 and two mattresses valued at $60,000 property of Dexter Harry.
It was further alleged that Cox on October 14, 2018 at Costello Housing Scheme, damaged a number of items totalling to $85,000 property of Kelvin Anthony.
Cox, who was unrepresented by an attorney, told the court that he is 38 years of age. He pleaded to be released on self bail as he has his children and mother depending on him and that he is financially embarrassed.
He further pledged to attend every court session so as to prove his innocence.
However, Harry pitched in and told the court that Cox was lying as he put out his child mother and children, leaving her crying for the past week as she has nowhere to stay.
Police Prosecutor Anisa Brummell had no objections to bail. Senior Magistrate Faith McGusty then granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for each charge and adjourned the matter until January 16, 2019.
