Junior Race Walker, Anton Vasconcellas defied the rain and walked away with first prize Ming’s Products and Services Trophy in the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club/ Guyana Hemp Industries 10K Caricom Day Race Walk held on Monday last around the outer circuit of the East Ruimveldt Community Center.
The Caricom Day Race saw Brandon Solomon securing second place with Akeem Young and Akeem O’Brien securing the third and fourth positions.
Tambi Hendricks copped the top position in the female category with Tanifa Qualis taking the number one spot for the girls.
In the juvenile division, Aaron Vasconcellas claimed the top position, while Toquan Burrowes and Rehana Fraser grabbed the second and third places.
Trophies and other prizes were donated by Ming’s Products and Services, Mr. Verman Bedessee Chief Executive Officer of Bedessee Import Inc of the USA and Chairman of Guyana Hemp Industries, Dr. Jose DaSilva Managing Director Modern Optical Services and A.H &L Kissoon.
