Why does our country encourage foreign companies to exploit the local workers who are employed with them?
This nonsense started since the days of the late L.F.S. Burnham, continued under Desmond Hoyte. Then the PPP took office in 1992 and the same madness still continued. Now the coalition has taken over, the same continuing.
What happened? Are our citizens not entitled to international competitive wages and benefits?
Our past and present government has us working under sub-standard conditions and salaries.
Don’t you think that if these conditions improve, Guyana would be a far better place?
You have foreign companies exploiting our resources and raping our country and earth. Our brothers and sisters have to endure such conditions. Come on! Don’t you think that your citizens deserve a far better deal than what is going?
Look at other small countries i.e. Suriname. They don’t encourage such non-sense.
I thought that our government is supposed to look out for the best interest of their citizens.
I think we can do much better!
Yours truly,
Derick Bacchus

(Kaieteur News) – The PPP Gov’t will give an arm and a leg to get the MV Barima off the front-pages.
