One month after a former clerk of De Sinco Limited, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and was slapped with two fraud charges, he was back before a City Magistrate, last Friday where 13 additional frauds charges were read to him.
Thirty-three-year-old Rawle Peters, of 22 Hardina Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that between February 14 and March 28, while being a clerk or servant at De Sinco Limited, he fraudulently embezzled a total of $1.6 M, money taken by him in the name of the company.
Peters denied the allegations after they were read to him.
Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson asked the court to grant his client reasonable bail citing that his client is currently unemployed.
He added that his client was recently charge and was released on $200,000 bail by the Chief Magistrate.
However, Police Prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield, told the court that based on the serious nature of the offence, he asked that bail be granted in a substantial amount.
Magistrate Daly after listening to the prosecutor granted the defendant bail in the sum of $330,000.
He was instructed to make his next court appearance on June 13 for report.
