Dear Editor,
I would like every Guyanese to recognize the exceptional talent and bravery and champion of all Guyanese, Mr. Christopher Ram.
It is my firm belief that this nation does not recognize the outstanding contributions of this man as trumpet blower against shady deals and corruption that robs our already impoverished nation more so in the latter days of the previous administration and even today as he holds the current Govt.’s feet to the fire for many of their boneheaded blunders.
Editor, I believe we do not recognize the contributions of Mr. Ram and the time and devotion this patriot has to his country. I hope that one day we can truly recognize all of his efforts.
Mr. Ram is a tireless champion, while no spring chicken, he has been using his talents foremost as a seasoned and recognized professional accountant to an outspoken champion as it pertains to Guyana’s national patrimony among many other causes.
I recall that he was a thorn in the side of the last administration and he is one of the few people that we as Guyanese can depend on to tell us the truth.
We must applaud Mr. Ram for advocating again the disastrous contract the present Govt. had signed with ExxonMobil, we applaud him for speaking out against the many bone headed decisions of the present administration as well as speaking out against the many shady deals of the past administration for which we still pay a tremendous cost.
I particularly applaud Mr. Ram in his recent efforts for criticizing the decision to accept ExxonMobil’s pre-contract cost of US$460M without formal audit or due process, that pressure has resulted in a u-turn decision by Govt. and recent announcement from Minister Patterson that those pre-contract costs and hopefully all future costs will now be audited.
Thank you Mr. Ram, on behalf of all Guyanese, we cannot express our gratitude enough to you for your tireless work and drive to place Guyana on the right path.
You, my friend are a true patriot and a national treasure.
Yours truly
Tony Persaud
