The man taken in for questioning in the death of 34-year-old Guyanese national Petronella Hinds in Nevis on Thursday, remains in police custody, WINN FM in St. Kitts and Nevis is reporting.
WINN FM confirmed this with Deputy Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy on Saturday.
Hinds, a hotel employee who lived in Cane Garden with her husband, was found unresponsive in a house in Farms Estate Thursday afternoon. Police said that at about 3:45 p.m. the Charlestown Police Station received a report from the Emergency Medical Services that after having responded to an emergency call, they found the hotel employee dead.
Winn FM reported that there were no obvious signs of violence on the hotel employee’s body, and police are still trying to piece together what lead to Hinds demise.
Deputy Commissioner Brandy said: “We still don’t know what happened but a woman is dead so we have to determine the circumstances of how she died.”
Hinds lived with her family in Nevis and was said to have attended the Covent Garden Secondary School, hailing from Soesdyke, before moving years ago to St. Kitts and Nevis, which is located in the Eastern Caribbean area.
