Retired Judge Stanley Moore, was among the distinguished awardees when the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court [ECSC] celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court is headquartered in Castries, St. Lucia. Moreover it was fitting that a lavish gala dinner be held at the Sandals Resort in St. Lucia to have the golden jubilee celebration.
At the elaborate Black Tie Gala Event, Justice Moore was presented with a plaque which reads: “Presented to His Lordship The Hon. Stanley Moore In recognition of your sterling service.”
Justice Moore’s accomplishments over the years have been so significant that his name will undoubtedly be well etched in the annals of history, especially when it comes to matters of the judiciary, both in Guyana and the Caribbean. In fact, his outstanding work as a lawyer had allowed him to be bestowed with the title of Senior Counsel.
Justice Moore’s accomplishments extend to politics having served as Minister of Home Affairs back in the day under the regime of the People’s National Congress.
At the celebratory event, a plaque was also awarded to yet another Guyanese retired Justice, Indra Hariprashad Charles. Justice Charles was awarded for her meritorious service as a Judge of the High court.
Plaques were also awarded to former Chief Justice Sir Dennis Byron, and to former Acting Chief Justices, Sir Brian Alleyne, and Justice Adrian Saunders.
The July 29, 2017 event was graced by the distinguished presence of the Governor General of St. Lucia, Dame Pearlette Louisy, and was well attended by a number of legal luminaries of the Region, and other prominent persons.
The States and Territories of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court are: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines and the Territory of the Virgin Islands.
The Supreme Court comprises the Court of Appeal and the High Court. The current Chief Justice is Dame Janice M. Pereira, DBE who was born in Virgin Gorda in the Territory of the Virgin Islands.
